Patricia Arquette

With Medium moving from NBC to its new home at CBS, some unusual things are happening, Zap2It.com reports. One of these will feature Allison Dubois (Patricia Arquette) fighting zombies.

And not just any zombies, mind you, but the back-to-basics shambling intestine-eaters from George Romero’s imagination.

And not just any old imagined zombies but the ACTUAL critters from Night of the Living Dead, series creator Glenn Gordon Caron told the TV Critics Association press tour on Monday.

Yep, an upcoming Halloween episode of the show will feature Allison inserted Forrest Gump-style into footage from NotLD, as part of our heroine’s “dreamscape”.

One reason why the move to CBS allows Medium to do season-specific episodes like a Halloween special is that under NBC, the show never started a season earlier than mid-November (Halloween is on Oct 31).

Now the season has a definite Fall start date, in time for Halloween.

CBS has announced the premiere dates for its fall lineup, which will mostly launch during the week of Sept. 20, the official start of the 2009-2010 season.

In addition, the network announced that “Survivor: Samoa,” the 19th installment of the reality series, will start Sept. 17, a week prior to the formal launch of the season.

CBS’ new season will kick off Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. with the return of “How I Met Your Mother” and the premiere of the comedy “Accidentally on Purpose,” followed by “Two and a Half Men,” “The Big Bang Theory” and “CSI: Miami.”

Tuesday’s block will feature “NCIS,” followed by its spinoff, “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and the debut of the new drama “The Good Wife.”

Wednesday’s lineup will be “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Gary Unmarried,” “Criminal Minds” and “”CSI: NY.”

Thursday’s schedule will be “Survivor: Samoa,” followed by “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “The Mentalist” in its new 10 p.m. slot.

The move of NBC’s “Medium” to CBS will debut Sept. 25 at 9 p.m., preceded by “Ghost Whisperer” and followed by “Numb3rs.”

Saturday’s slate will be two hours of drama repeats, “Crimetime Saturday” followed by “48 Hours Mystery.” Sundays will mark the return of “60 Minutes” at 7 p.m., followed by “The Amazing Race” at 8 p.m. and “Cold Case” at 10 p.m. CBS’ new medical drama “Three Rivers” will premiere Oct. 4 at 9 p.m.

Kimbo Slice

THE CAST for season ten of The Ultimate Fighter has leaked – and SunSport can reveal who will pit their wits against Kimbo Slice.

With the ninth instalment of the show ending on Saturday at the TUF 9 Finale, mixed martial arts fans are already eager to find out which men will make up the roster for the next series.

We understand that the full list of the 16 heavyweights who will compete for a six-figure contract with the UFC will be:

KIMBO SLICE: The YouTube phenomenon and former Elite XC headliner will be the main attraction in the new season. UFC president Dana White has continually derided the 35-year-old, claiming “he would get killed in the UFC”. It will be interesting to see if he is proved right.

ROY NELSON: Boasting a 13-4 MMA record, the 32-year-old is a former Elite XC fighter who is perhaps best known for being knocked out by Andrei Arlovski last October.

WES SIMS: Formerly on the UFC roster, the 29-year-old was cut after just one year in the promotion in 2004 after losing three successive fights to Frank Mir (twice) and Mike Kyle.

MARCUS JONES: Former NFL defensive end for Tampa Bay Buccaneers between 1996 and 2002. Occasional guest on the popular American radio show Bubba the Love Sponge. Trained in MMA for just over two years.

ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson says his network’s remake of the 1980s miniseries “V” could consist of four seasons, planned in advance, each with 13-22 episodes each (more on this, and ABC’s fall schedule, here). The show is planned for midseason.

Below are two first-look previews and based on these, my hopes for the show are up. We’ve seen alien invasion stories so many times before, the challenge is to bring something new.

The second video in particular is a nicely done, tense scene, with Scott Wolf (and hey, he still looks like him) playing a journalist landing an interview with the alien leader (played by Brazilian actress Morena Baccarin). Every reporter’s dream/nightmare.
