JENNIFER Love Hewitt is out of a job.

The actress’ hit US TV show, Ghost Whisperer, has been canceled after five seasons as part of a sweep by bosses at CBS.

However, Jennifer might not be unemployed for long — rumors are already swirling Ghost Whisperer could get picked up by another network with ABC reported to be interested.

Meanwhile, Jennifer recently revealed that she’ll only date a guy if his underwear is free of skid-marks.

“Guys should be clean and their underwear free of skid-marks,” she said earlier this month. “If they are not then run as fast as you can in the other direction and never date him again.

“Guys should also be funny, have a great smile, be trustworthy and have a good relationship with his mom.”

That star has also admitted she has been cheated on “a lot” in her life.

“It’s brutal,” she said. “Once I found out on television and that was awesome. And then another time I found them together … and that was, woooo!”

Despite attempts to continue NBC’s “My Name Is Earl” on cable, seems the studio and TBS were unable to reach an agreement. The show is now officially gone. Here’s the post-mortem statement from 20th TV:

“Greg Garcia’s brilliant ‘My Name is Earl’ kept America laughing for the past four seasons and certainly deserved to continue for many more.”

“While we had hoped to find a way to produce additional episodes for TBS, in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series.”

“As none of us, Greg included, want the show to go out on anything but a high note, we regret that we must put to rest any speculation that Earl will continue. We are grateful to everyone at TBS for their enthusiasm for the series and wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to the cast and crew of My Name is Earl for their incredible work.”
